Uber Freight, an intelligent logistics platform that connects shippers and carriers, and Better Trucks, a regional parcel carrier and last-mile delivery platform, recently announced an expanded partnership with one another.
This expanded partnership marks Uber Freight’s jump into the last-mile delivery market, expands the company’s coverage significantly, and provides many other key benefits to both companies.
Uber Freight Leaps Into the Last-Mile Delivery Market
The last-mile delivery market is growing rapidly in the USA, and is expected to reach over $250 billion by 2030. This partnership allows Uber Freight to enter this rising market by using Better Trucks’ delivery network, operational capabilities, and technology.
The collaboration ensures Uber Freight customers are now able to extend delivery from their store or warehouse, directly to the end customer with better reliability, visibility, and speed. This move also allows Uber Freight to offer end-to-end logistics, covering first-mile, middle-mile, and last-mile.
With the added capacity from Better Trucks, Uber Freight now covers 68% of the population in the USA. While this is solid coverage, it’s not the end goal, as the figure is expected to increase to 85% by the end of 2026.
Additional Benefits of the Partnership for Uber Freight

While the companies have had an existing partnership for around a year, Uber Freight uncovered a lot of additional capabilities that Better Trucks provides that the company wasn’t expecting. Uber Freight was especially impressed with Better Trucks’ technology.
For example, Better Trucks’ open API architecture integrates with dozens of platforms, allowing for smooth data flow and easier collaboration between tools. It also offers better address validation and geocoding, which helps to convert addresses into geographical coordinates, to ensure both routes and deliveries are optimized.
This improves the reliability of first-time deliveries, and keeps costs in check as it may reduce the frequency of re-attempted deliveries.
The move also lets Uber Freight use seven sortation centers from Better Trucks, which are key points in the delivery network and offer better efficiency and accuracy for shippers and carriers alike.
CEO of Uber Freight, Rebecca Tinucci, had nothing but good things to say about the partnership, what it means for Uber Freight, and about Better Trucks itself. She said that “Better Trucks’ track record in efficient, tech-driven solutions, combined with their expanding network, enables us to offer our customers unparalleled speed and flexibility.”
How the Partnership Supports Better Trucks
For Better Trucks, the benefits of this partnership include an undisclosed financial investment from Uber Freight, which lets the company improve technology, scale operations, and expand into new markets in the future.
The partnership also gives Better Trucks access to a broader customer base thanks to Uber Freight’s large and expansive network, and even lets it use Uber Freight’s last-mile coverage for the company’s own deliveries if needed.
Speaking about the partnership, Better Trucks CEO and Co-Founder Andy Whiting said that “Our shared vision for a more intelligent and efficient logistics network is at the heart of this collaboration. We continue to bring our agile and flexible delivery solutions to our clients and now an even broader customer base, helping them meet the growing demands of the e-commerce landscape.”
As the peak holiday season approaches and as more end customers want their deliveries as quickly as possible, Uber Freight is taking steps to help the company’s customers speed up and optimize the delivery process at all touchpoints.
