For Walmart Marketplace sellers, a new integration with ShipStation is making the process of managing orders across multiple selling channels easier than ever. It’s also giving sellers access to Walmart-negotiated shipping rates, which may come at a huge discount compared to market rates.
Ship With Walmart not only simplifies order management and reduces costs, but it also offers several additional features and benefits that position Walmart Marketplace well to compete with the likes of Amazon, eBay, and others for third-party marketplace superiority.
Walmart Launches Ship With Walmart
Walmart, along with ShipStation, one of the leading intelligent logistics and shipping platforms, just announced a new shipping solution and integration called Ship With Walmart. This gives Walmart Marketplace sellers direct access to Walmart-negotiated shipping rates within the ShipStation platform.
In fact, sellers can get access to discounted rates that can help them save up to 60% on their shipping compared to market rates. On top of cheaper shipping labels, the integration also lets Walmart Marketplace sellers manage their orders across multiple sales channels in one place.
This simplifies the selling, shipping, and management process for sellers using ShipStation, as they no longer need to leave the platform to manage their Walmart shipping. Now, their Walmart orders sit alongside other orders on other platforms like Amazon, eBay, Shopify, and others. The integration also works alongside a seller’s existing shipping setup and is simple to activate.
The Benefits Go Beyond Management and Better Shipping Rates
However, the advantages of using this platform don’t stop with better rates and centralized order management. First, eligible orders shipped on time can receive up to $100 in protection for lost-item claims and other delivery issues that are out of your business’s control. You can also add enhanced carrier protection up to $500 in total.
The platform also lets you bulk buy your shipping labels to save time and energy, and you can purchase as many as 50 at a time. It also takes plenty of work off of your plate, as Walmart will handle things like claims and customer reimbursements so you don’t have to.
Ship With Walmart also supports on-time delivery and valid tracking performance, and sellers can gain access to Walmart’s Simplified Shipping Settings, which bring Walmart-recommended carrier and service-level options into ShipStation, based on your unique delivery promise.
Our Take
The Move Makes Walmart a More Threatening Competitor in the Space
While this new solution may not make every merchant jump ship to Walmart Marketplace instantly, the opportunity to get discounted rates at a time when shipping is more expensive than ever, plus hassle-free claims and carrier protection, is certainly attractive and something that many third-party sellers need to consider.
It also reduces the friction and lowers the barriers of selling on Walmart Marketplace, as sellers can now handle their Walmart orders in the same dashboard they use for their various other orders. As a result, it wouldn’t be surprising to see more sellers add Walmart Marketplace to the list of places where they list their products.
