Shopify and Klaviyo recently deepened their product integration to help accelerate global commerce and assist brands in scaling across different markets. Specifically, the companies are helping businesses better unify customer data across regions and deliver localized experiences across the globe.
Shopify and Klaviyo Deepening Partnership
According to a recent blog post by Klaviyo, Shopify and Klaviyo are deepening their integration and partnership in an effort to help brands scale internationally. In particular, this expanded partnership helps companies better unify data across markets and regions to ensure brands can deliver localized and consistent experiences globally.
Klaviyo has built native support for Shopify Markets into the company’s CRM, which lets brands activate localized commerce data across areas like marketing and customer engagement. Before this integration, marketing teams often had to manage separate catalogs or build their own workarounds to avoid regional errors.
But now, Klaviyo’s CRM provides a synchronized multi-market data foundation that integrates directly with Shopify Markets. The feature is currently available to use for all Shopify Market merchants who also use Klaviyo.
The New Shopify Markets Locale Aware Catalogs
A big part of this foundation, and the latest innovation under this further platform integration, is Locale Aware Catalogs. This lets customers automatically sync localized product catalogs from Shopify Markets, right into Klaviyo.
This ensures that language, pricing, currency, and even region-specific URLs are correct for every market, without having to manually manage multiple catalogs or create custom workarounds.
As cross-border ecommerce continues to grow rapidly, this integration is helpful for brands to ensure their customers only see products available in their regions, in currencies and languages that they recognize. If someone sees product descriptions in a language they don’t understand, or pricing in a currency they aren’t aware of, it can ruin your chances of making a sale.
How Locale Aware Catalogs Work and What They Can Do
The way that Locale Aware Catalogs works is fairly straightforward. To begin, you simply need to connect Shopify Markets and choose which market catalog you want to sync. Next, localized product data is automatically imported, such as language, currency, pricing, and region-specific URLs.
This allows you to now use that data everywhere in Klaviyo, without having to change or adjust your workflows.
Locale Aware Catalogs can help companies offer:
- Local currency pricing.
- Recommendations based on local availability.
- Smart regional filtering.
- Product links that automatically direct customers to the correct localized version of your store.
- Unified global workflows, which use a single marketing template that dynamically adapts to a customer’s location or language.
It also lets you preview exactly how product content looks before it goes live for each area, so you can identify and fix any issues or errors.
Klaviyo said it built this to eliminate the operational burden of having to manage multiple catalogs manually. The company says it also closes a gap in the market, as Klaviyo is the first platform to natively integrate Shopify Markets’ localized data across marketing and Customer Hub.
For global ecommerce brands using both Shopify and Klaviyo, this is a huge win and makes it much easier to manage multiple product catalogs. It saves plenty of time and energy, while also reducing the errors that often occur when having to change languages, currencies, URLs, and prices for different markets manually.
