Merchantee Raised €1.8M So More Brands Can Stop Doing Things the Hard Way

A provider of marketplace intelligence tools, Merchantee, recently secured almost €2 million during a recent round of funding.

The company plans to expand its operations throughout Europe, which is great news for the many sellers in the region looking to streamline operations and save time and effort when it comes to managing product catalogs and dynamic pricing.

Merchantee Secures Nearly €2 Million in Funding

Merchantee, a marketplace intelligence company, has announced the results of a funding round where it raised €1.8 million. The round was led by Reflex Capital, and also included Lighthouse Ventures and Czech Founders VC.

For those unfamiliar with it, the platform connects to sellers’ marketplace accounts and automates a variety of tasks to save them time and cut down the effort that companies put into mundane tasks.

The Plans for the Funding

As for what the company plans to do with these funds, the Czechia-based Merchantee is going to expand into other parts of Europe. First, it’s eying expansion into Germany and Poland this year, followed by further expansion in Europe throughout 2027, to places like Italy, France, and the Netherlands.

It also has plans to use the money to fund product developments, specifically the company’s technology called Layer 4, which helps its AI make better automatic decisions. Finally, the funds will also help it move forward with planned marketplace integrations with the likes of eMag, Bol, and Cdiscount.

The Benefits of the Platform For Marketplace Sellers

Merchantee is incredibly useful for helping companies that sell on online marketplaces. Specifically, it helps speed up important, yet mundane, tasks like adjusting prices, analyzing product performance, handling campaigns, and managing a brand’s inventory and catalog.

For example, instead of your team having to manually adjust prices based on market conditions, demand, and seller behavior, the platform automatically changes product pricing every 30 to 60 minutes based on these types of factors.

This is only a single example of the many ways that Merchantee’s AI speeds up operations for merchants selling on marketplaces. In the past, many of these tasks would’ve been handled manually and taken hours of work, as opposed to being handled entirely by AI.

The shift to AI for streamlining these operations is especially important for brands looking to scale, as manually dealing with thousands of pricing, inventory, campaign, and promotional decisions every day just isn’t sustainable for many teams.

Businesses relying on AI to automatically handle tasks isn’t reserved just to marketplace sellers, either, as around half of all businesses use AI in three or more business functions, with some using it in many more.

Our Take

The Increasing Importance of Automation for Marketplace Sellers

As online marketplaces and the ecommerce industry as a whole continue to grow, competition only becomes more fierce. Platforms like Merchantee and others that can save ecommerce sellers time and energy with automation have become more and more important to keep up with peers without overwhelming your team.

As a result of this importance, it’s not surprising to see them receive funding like this to expand and improve their offering for sellers. Marketplaces are also one of the most common places for consumers to start their shopping journeys, so it makes sense that many sellers prioritize them.

Because of this, expect to see other AI-powered platforms and tools that aid marketplace sellers to continue to become crucial parts of the tech stacks of ecommerce brands everywhere.
